Motor Performance in children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Método: Foram avaliados 28 indivíduos com idade entre 6 e 16 anos, grupo ASD (GEA = 14) e grupo controle (GC = 14) pareados por sexo e idade. As habilidades motoras foram avaliadas pela escala de Avaliação do Movimento para Crianças (M-ABC2) e pela escala de comportamentos autistas (ATA). Resultados: 85% (12/14) do ASDG tiveram dificuldades motoras significativas em relação aos seus pares, o ASDG apresentou desempenho motor inferior ao esperado (p <0,001) com uma correlação moderada entre traços autistas e habilidades com a bola (r = 0,311, p = 0,278). Conclusão: crianças / adolescentes com TEA apresentam déficits no desempenho motor, independentemente da gravidade dos traços autistas. O estudo enfatiza a necessidade de atenção ao desempenho motor de crianças / adolescentes com TEA, aumentando a discussão sobre a importância da fisioterapia,
